Muscle Testing originated in the 40’s as a means of grading physical disability. In 1964,
Dr. George Goodheart, chiropractor, began the discovery that muscle testing could be used to evaluate what turns out to be
the basic structural balance of the entire musculoskeletal system. Moreover he found the connections and correlations of the
specific muscles to glands, organs, acupuncture meridians, cranial bones(skull and cerebrospinal fluid balance) nerve supply,
blood supply and lymphatic drainage. The term Applied Kinesiology (AK), which translates applied study of motion, physiology,
biochemistry, diet, lifestyle, emotions, etc.
The beauty of this simple tool is in its ability to evaluate immediately the effectiveness of any particular therapy.
What is Cranio-Sacral Therapy? Developed over a century ago this system involves the central nervous
system from head (cranial) to tail (sacrum) along with cerebrospinal fluid which is liquid that surrounds the brain and flow
down the hollow of the spinal cord all the way down to the sacrum. During a Cranio Sacral treatment the doctor will assess
the pulse of the cerebrospinal fluid. In and out-of-balance condition, the pulses are irregular and imbalanced, in an in balance
condition, they are balanced and calm. Through extremely gentle manipulation of the cranium a calm and regular pulse can be
restored giving relief to a broad range of complaints from head aches to back pain to digestive problems.
